Oh, to be a kid again and go to Detroit Kid City! We were there with two toddlers — year and a half and almost three. They enjoyed every second of playing in this mini-town with its “post office,” “barber shop,” “bank,” “recording studio,” “pizza parlor,” “market” and more. The “up north” area is a great place for stories or playing in a giant tent and there is a coloring spot, too. Admission is one beverage — and they were fairly reasonable (large smoothies: 3.50; small water 1.00). The staff seemed friendly but not hovering. This was a return visit for the kids and their mom. We had our 3-year-old’s birthday here with about 10 of his friends plus parents. Our son loves Detroit Kid City and can spend a long time playing in all of the different kid-sized rooms at the Southfield location. We eventually investigated having a party here as opposed to another home party. I was sold when I was told that I basically wasn’t allowed to lift a finger for the event. They handle the food, decorations, set up, clean up and even the goodie bags! It was simple. Jet’s Pizza, Cupcakes, Smoothies for the kiddos plus we had an open coffee bar for the adults. The team who handled our party did a fantastic job and the kids (and parents) had a blast. I can’t recommend DKC enough for birthday parties.…
Really impressed with the birthday service. The kids have the run fo the place for the 2 hour block. The play areas are clean and there are a wide variety of activities for kids up to about 11. Coffee is great and the staff handles all the details. Really impressed.

I went into the Southfield location which is usually a great place to go play. Beware of your personal belongings. My daughters Northface jacket was stolen on March 9, 2019. It was a brand new (less than 2 months old) $80.00 jacket from Nordstrom with the Northface tag inside of the jacket with the size in it (12-18 months). The people working said sorry but that does not bring my jacket back. Someone took my daughters jacket and left their old jacket with no tag in its place. The jacket they left is also approximately a size 3 and not in good shape. Since it was cold outside i had to put the other person’s coat on my daughter. Hopefully it was just an honest mistake but it doesn’t make sense why someone would take a smaller size. I will update this review if my jacket is returned but I’m not holding my breath.…
